Crimes Investigated
Vehicle Burglary
During the month of February, four (4) vehicles were reported as being broken into within the shopping centers.
Stolen Vehicle
During the month of February, there were two (2) reports of vehicles being stolen.
Alcohol/Drugs
During the month of February, patrol officers made a total of 14 arrests for drug and alcohol related charges, which includes one (1) arrest for driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
Pursuit
On 2/4/17 at approximately 0106 hours, a Colma Policer Officer attempted to conduct a vehicle stop in the 800 block of Serramonte Boulevard after witnessing the vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign. The driver initially stopped and then fled at a high rate of speed, attempting to evade the officer, and failing to obey traffic signals. Due to the reckless nature of the suspect’s actions and concern for public welfare, the officer discontinued the pursuit. A broadcast was provided to neighboring police agencies to be on the lookout for the vehicle. On 2/5/17 at approximately 0042 hours, the vehicle and suspect were located and detained in Daly City. Colma Police Officers responded and took the suspect into custody and booked him into the San Mateo County Jail.
Strong Arm Robbery and Assault Causing Great Bodily Injury
On 2/13/17 at approximately 2207 hours, Colma Police Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Serramonte Boulevard to the report of a strong armed robbery and assault. When officers arrived, they located an assault victim who had facial trauma and was in need of medical assistance. Colma Fire responded and the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The investigation at the scene revealed three suspects had entered the establishment and stole personal property from unsuspecting customers. One victim attempted to retain the property and was punched in the face. The suspects fled and are at large. The case was turned over to Colma Police Detectives who are investigating numerous leads.
Felon in Possession of Stolen Firearm
On 2/15/17 at approximately 1525 hours, a Colma Police Officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the 100 block of Colma Boulevard. Additional officers responded to assist with the investigation when the driver and two occupants were unable to provide documentation of vehicle ownership. During the investigation, one suspect fled on foot and was captured a short distance later after a brief struggle when the suspect threw a loaded weapon over the fence. Another suspect was determined to have two outstanding warrants for her arrest. During a search, multiple stolen items and documents with personal identifying information of others were located inside the vehicle. All three occupants were subsequently arrested for multiple violations, which included: Possession of stolen property, possession of a loaded stolen firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property, and resisting arrest.

Officer Guerrero participated in one San Mateo County Saturation Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) detail.
