Crimes Investigated
December 2024 saw a significant increase in police activity. Officers handled a total of 2,047 incidents, taking 145 reports. This led to 79 arrests, 55 for misdemeanors and 24 for felonies. Additionally, 89 criminal, traffic, and parking citations were issued, and 139 traffic enforcement stops were conducted. The activity level continued in January 2025, with 82 reports, 40 arrests, 61 citations issued, and 95 traffic stops conducted between January 1st and January 22nd.
On December 19th, Serenity DeCuire and Donald Thomas entered a business in the Metro Mall. Where DeCuire selected $1,323.00 worth of store merchandise and exited the store, failing to pay for the items. Thomas and DeCuire were observed fleeing in a vehicle before CPD’s arrival. CPD Officers conducted further investigation and obtained surveillance video of the getaway vehicle. With the assistance of the San Francisco Police Department, both DeCuire and Thomas were taken into custody in San Francisco for the crime they committed in Colma.
On December 23rd, Matthew Foster concealed $169.00 worth of merchandise from a business located on the 100 Block of Colma Boulevard. Foster attempted to flee on foot but was swiftly apprehended by CPD officers. Foster was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Due to Foster’s prior repeated theft convictions, he was transported to county jail where he was booked for possession of a controlled substance, shoplifting with prior convictions, and possession of another person’s credit card information.
On December 28th, an employee of a business on the 700 Block of Serramonte Boulevard was a victim of an armed robbery. Pedro Ramirez, Marcos Ramos, and Jose Monico entered the business and stole $100.00 worth of store merchandise. The employee began to take pictures of the suspect’s vehicle when Monico brandished a firearm and pointed at the employee as the car fled the scene. CPD officers conducted further investigation and obtained a suitable vehicle description. The San Francisco Police Department located the vehicle in their city. All three suspects were taken into custody, and the firearm used in the robbery was recovered from the vehicle, which was determined to be a replica firearm.

Monico was transported to the county jail, where he was booked for armed robbery, brandishing an imitation firearm, and theft. Ramos was issued a citation for the theft, and Ramirez was transported to the county jail, where he was booked for outstanding arrest warrants.
Between January 1st and January 11th, Officers were busy handling a variety of incidents. There were 188 calls for service and 540 officer-initiated incidents. Officers took a total of 40 cases, which included a range of incidents from warrant arrest, commercial burglaries, shoplifting, narcotics, and fraud.
On January 1st, CPD officers conducted a foot patrol at a business on the 100 Block of Colma Boulevard. Officers observed in plain view inside a parked vehicle a glass narcotics smoking pipe. Further investigation determined that the vehicle’s registered owner had an outstanding warrant. CPD Officers conducted a traffic stop on the car for the on-view violation of drug paraphernalia. A records check of the driver, Nathaniel Vaughn, confirmed he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, and his passenger, Harumi Amezcu Martinez, also had a warrant for her arrest. An incident to arrest search of both Vaughn and Martinez’s arrests revealed several narcotics smoking pipes, stolen property from local stores, and several documents with personal belongings to several victims. Vaughn and Martinez were transported to the county jail, where they were booked for their warrants, petty theft with prior convictions, and possession of a controlled substance with previous convictions.
On January 6th, CPD officers and the Colma Fire Department responded to a fire inside a business on the 700 Block of Serramonte Boulevard. CPD officers arrived on scene and observed customers exiting the store. Upon further investigation, CPD officers learned that Jarrett Galaraza was observed by staff leaving the men’s restroom where the fire was set. After determining there was no active fire, CPD officers detained Galaraza outside the store. Galaraza was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance and causing a fire in an inhabited structure.
Between January 12th and January 22nd, Officers were busy with a variety of incidents. They fielded 764 incidents, including 205 calls for service and 559 officer-initiated incidents. The cases they handled ranged from shoplifting to vehicle hit-and-run, battery, and grand theft.
On January 21st, Christon Lewis and Jaesean Patton entered a business in the Metro Mall. Jaesean distracted employees while Lewis concealed $3,3781.00 worth of sunglasses. Lewis and Patton quickly exited the store without paying for the merchandise and fled on foot. CPD Officers promptly arrived on the scene and attempted to contact both suspects while walking on Junipero Serra Boulevard. They immediately began running and ran into a nearby cemetery. CPD officers conducted a perimeter search and located both suspects exiting the cemetery. CPD officers attempted to detain the suspects, and after a foot pursuit and the assistance of the South San Francisco Police Department, both suspects were taken into custody. The diligent efforts of the officers led to the successful recovery of all the merchandise, which was promptly returned to the business. Patton was booked into county jail for organized retail theft. Lewis was booked into county jail for organized retail theft, resisting arrest, and grand theft.
