The suspect was found to be in possession of electronic burglary tools. He was identified as a 16-year-old juvenile. The suspect was transported to a local hospital to be treated for a complaint of pain. The suspect was released to his parents while being treated at the hospital. On October 12, a CPD Officer demonstrated exceptional vigilance when conducting a traffic stop on the 7800 Block of El Camino Real for a vehicle equipment violation. The officer contacted the solo occupant/driver, Quincy Brooks. Upon contact, officers smelled a fresh smell of burnt marijuana emanating from inside Brooks’ vehicle. A records check revealed Brooks had a suspended driver’s license. The CPD officer ordered Brooks to exit the vehicle, which he complied. Upon attempting to conduct an officer safety pat search for weapons, Brooks pulled away from officers and nearly struck an officer with his elbow. Officers quickly approached the vehicle and prevented Prudhomme from entering the vehicle. Prudhomme complied with the officer’s orders and was taken into custody. Prudhomme had also attempted to make a $400.00 purchase using the fake USA currency at a business located in the Serra Center.
