Two paths will be available for families looking for spooky fun or those looking to challenge themselves.

Ghost Run FAQ

Registration

  1. How do I register for the Ghost Run?
    Register online at here. It’s quick and easy. Race registration is first-come, first-served. It’s possible we might sell out before registration closes, so register today! Or you can register in person at 1520 Hillside Blvd, Colma.
  2. Can I register on the day of the event? No. Preregistration is required. Please see How do I register for Ghost Run.
  3. Do I need to register my child? Yes. Participants of all ages need to be registered before entering the race course. Registration is free for children four and under, but please note that free child registration does not include a t-shirt.
  4. What if I have a problem with my registration?
    Contact the Town of Colma Parks and Recreation Services Department at (650) 985-5678 or by email at recreation@colma.ca.gov.

 Race Day

  1. Where is the Check In? Check in will be located at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park Arch – 1701 Hillside Blvd. Colma, CA. (Serramonte Blvd. and Hillside Blvd.)
  2. Can I walk the 5K? Yes, you can run, walk, stroll, or hop. Set your own pace, it’s all up to you.
  3. Can I run with my stroller? Strollers will only be allowed during the Famil Fun Run that begins at 8:45am.
  4. Is this race timed and are there awards? Yes! The competitive runners will be timed and starting promptly at 8:30am. Please wear your bib on the FRONT of your shirt while on the race course. The top three runners based on the age group (adults, 17-13 and 12 and under) will be given a medal.
  5. Will there be food? Yes. Participants are welcome to free water and pre/post-race snacks.
  6. Can I pick up the race packets for someone else? Yes, for immediate family only. For any other questions email recreation@colma.ca.gov
  7. Will there be course markers along the race routes? Yes, course markers will be available every mile along the race routes.
  8. Will there be hydration stations available? Yes, participants can refresh themselves with water provided at the hydration stations along the route.
  9. Will there be cups on race day or can I bring my own bottle? Yes, we will be providing small paper cups in all our hydration stations and reusable water bottles are encouraged
  10. Can I bring along my pets? No. For the safety of all the race participants, pets are not permitted.
  11. Do I need to wear my race bib? All participants are required to wear their bib. Children participating in the Family Fun Run under the age of 4 are not required if they are accompanied by an adult with a bib.
  12. Where can I store my belongings during the race? Bag/coat check is not available. All participants are responsible for their belongings.
  13. Will there be supervision for my kids while I am participating in the 5K Run? No, parents participating in the 5K race will need to arrange supervision for their kids. Also, any kid participating in the Kids Fun Run may join their families on the 5K course.

Miscellaneous Questions

  1. What if the race is unable to be held as planned? The Ghost Run will take place rain or shine. If inclement weather occurs, please check out our Social Media pages for updates. Participants will be contacted incase of cancellation.
  2. What is your refund policy? You can request a refund up to 15 calendar days before the start of the Ghost Run. No refunds will be issued within 14 days of the event.
  3. Can I watch the event as a spectator? Yes, spectators will be allowed to cheer runners at a specific spectator area designated on map and at the finish line.
  4. Will there be medical help on the race course and at the finish line? Colma Fire Protection District will be on hand to handle any medical issues that arise during the race.
  5. Where can I park?
    Parking is available on Hillside Boulevard between Serramonte Blvd and F Street. Additional parking at Lucky Chances Exterior parking (corner of Hillside Blvd & Serramonte Blvd). The Colma Community Center Parking lot is open to all participants. Entrance to Cypress Lawn Archway will be closed due to the Ghost Run event.
  6. What happens if I arrive late? Can I still join the race if I am late? Competitive 5K race begins promptly at 8:30am. All timed runners are encouraged to be on time. Family Fun Run will begin at 8:45am. The last entry for runners/walkers will be at 9:00 am.
