City Manager’s Update
Daniel Barros, City Manager
May and June are always busy months for Town staff as we are putting the finishing touches on next year’s budget for the City Council’s consideration. The Town is preparing a full-service budget, where all city services will be offered in Fiscal year 2024-2025. Once again, Town revenues will exceed general fund operations. If you have any questions regarding the budget, please join us at the City Council meetings throughout this month on June 12th and 26th at 7pm in the City Council Chamber or on zoom. The zoom link can be found on our website at www.colma.ca.gov.
Please join the Town on June 5th at 11:00 a.m. at the Colma Community Center as we celebrate Philippine Independence at our flag raising ceremony. At the flag raising event we will be joined by the Philippine Consul General of San Francisco, Honorable Neil Frank R. Ferrer. The Honorable Neil Frank R. Ferrer is the Consul General of the Republic of the Philippines in San Francisco, which has consular jurisdiction over Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Northern California, Northern Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington State, and Wyoming. Light refreshments will be served, and we hope to see you there.
In addition to the Philippine Flag raising, The Town will also have a second commemorative flag raising ceremony this month on June 26th to raise the LGBTQ Pride Flag. Light refreshments will also be served at this event, and we hope to see you there as well!
As we emerge from the shadows of yet another wet winter and stormy spring, we finally look ahead to the excitement of summertime. Warmer weather, longer days, a full catalog of Recreation programming, and not to mention, a 100th anniversary to celebrate. Make sure you mark your calendars for our upcoming Parade and Community Fair on Saturday July 13th as well as our official anniversary Mixer of Monday August 5th.
Recreation Services Department Update

Every year the Town of Colma recognizes Honor Roll Students in the Fall. As the school year ends, we would like to celebrate your child’s hard work and dedication to their education. If your child reached the achievement of Honor Roll anytime during the 2023-2024 school year and would like to be apart of the recognition ceremony, please email recreation@colma.ca.gov.
