City Manager’s Update
Daniel Barros, City Manager
Summer may be coming to a close with kids returning to school and fall sports on the horizon, but the fun in Colma continues. Please join us on Saturday, September 7th at Sterling Park for our Annual Town Picnic where this year’s theme will celebrate “The Cultures of Colma” as part of our Centennial Celebration series this year.
This year’s event will include music, caricaturist, temporary tattoos, a Kid’s Zone with many different kids’ activities, Bingo and more. The picnic will begin at 11:00am and end at 3:00pm. Bingo will begin at 1:00pm for the first session, and 2:00pm for the second group. There is no cost for this annual community event, so pack up the whole family, and stop by and celebrate the end of summer and Colma turning 100 years old with your neighbors! Please remember to R.S.V.P. and check in when you arrive. Please remember you must have a current Town of Colma I.D. to participate in the Town Picnic and to R.S.V.P. at (650) 985-5678 or (650) 991-3213 before September 4, 2024.
I wanted to also take a moment to reflect on all of the fun and unique celebrations in Town thus far as Colma continues to celebrate its 100-year anniversary. From the ribbon cutting of our centennial mural in April, to our first ever parade down Hillside in July, and our special City Council Meeting on August 5th to formally celebrate Colma’s anniversary in style, thank you for helping us make this year so special. Seeing the community come together through these unique events and how proud you all are to celebrate your Colma pride is a true testament to just how great it is to be alive in Colma!
